Church Spiritual development is highlighted during assembly, circle time and at other times with an emphasis on the spiritual values of care, love and forgiveness. As a voluntary aided school we have strong links with Holy Trinity Church in Bramley.
Assemblies at the beginning and end of term are held there, to which all are welcome. Father John Bundock is a Governor and he and the family worker from the church lead assemblies at school each week. The children have designed and made a tapestry which hangs in the Childrens' Chapel. Community |
The Infant Nativity Play is held each year at holy Trinity Church on one afternoon and one evening in December. For the past few years we have invited everyone in the Village to attend and we serve mince pies and tera/mulled wine afterwards. It has now developed into a "Community" Nativity Play. |
The schools in the village have strong links with each other and on Remembrance Day, Bramley Infant School and the girls from St Catherine's Junior School join together in Holy Trinity Church to make and lay wreaths and observe the two minute silence. |
Creative Arts Week is an opportunity for children from Bramley Infants School to work with children from Gosden House School and St Catherine's Junior School in a variety of mediums - art, music, drama, dance and song. The year the school has sponsored two children, Ana in Ecuador and Adb in Sudan. Ana is 6 years old and lives with her parents, three sisters and a brother in San Miguel Pumachuca, which is in the Chimborazo Province, at the centre of the Ecudaorian mountain range. Adb is 7 years old and lives in Habila in the Sudan, with his father, three sisters and three brothers. It is important that our children understand how lucky and privileged they are and at the same time that they are able to help others. Check back regularly to find out how the children are getting to know each other. |
Bramley Infant School regularly enters the Waverley Design Awards. The Awards Scheme, which takes place every two years, was set up by Waverley Council in 1995 as a means of recognising and encouraging excellence in local development. The school was a winner in 1999, 2003 and 2005. In 2007 Bramley Infant School received Highly Commended in two categories - the Art School Project and the Schools Practical Project for the Sensory Garden. |
