The Opening Ceremony
Councillor Lavinia Sealy, Chairman of Surrey County Council with the Bishop of Guildford, the Right Reverend Christopher Hill officially open the Angela Champness Hall.
The Bishop unveiled a mural entitled "The Good Shepherd" which the children had created with artist Caroline Stanley. We did it! The Angela Champness Hall has been built and the refurbishment of the main school building is complete - all on budget and on time. This was a fantastic team effort by Governors, Staff, parents and the Bramley Community. However special thanks must go to Matthew Swinhoe at The Hutchinson Studio and Chris Mayes at Neilcott Construction for their hard work and commitment to this project. The children are already enjoying these fantastic facilities on a daily basis. We are delighted that the hall is also being used for after school clubs every school day. If you haven't yet had an opportunity to look round, please join us at one of our events to celebrate the opening of the new hall: 15 November - 8.30am - 11.30am - Open Morning 16 November - 7.30pm - 9.00pm - Open Evening 18 November - 7.30pm - Parish Ladies Supper - Hear Caroline Stanley, Angela Champness' niece, who is a visual artist, talk about her journey from Canada to Bramley via Norway. Tickets available from the school office. 27 November - 9.45am - Holy Trinity Family Service in the Angela Champness Hall led by Canon John Bundock and assisted by architect Maxwell Hutchinson.

2011 will be an exciting year for Bramley Infant School and Bramley Early Learning School Starting in February, we will be building a new hall and making improvements to the existing building. Help us raise the final £30,000!
2011 will be an exciting year for Bramley Infant School and Early Learning School. As you know, planning permission for the new hall was granted in December last year and Surrey County Council released £900,000 towards this project in November. You can see the full plans by clicking here. Work will start in late February and the project is due to be completed by August of this year. Have a look at the Picture Gallery to see how the project is moving forward.
The project will provide a new hall, replace all of the exterior leaded light windows with new double glazed units, provide new cloakroom space, rewire the classrooms, as well as replace the boiler and radiators in the existing building.
The new hall will be used by a range of children’s sports clubs and drama clubs, who are interested in offering after school and holiday activities which will be open to children of all ages living in Bramley and the surrounding areas.
There is still a need to fundraise the final £30,000 and we are in the process of organising the following events – for tickets and more details, please contact the school office on 01483 892346:
30 June - Chilli and Quiz Night Join us for a fun quiz evening, a bowl of chilli and a glass of wine. Why not get a table for up to 6 people together - tickets are £10 and are available from the school office. 9 July - Golf Day and Junior Coaching session at Bramley Golf Club A chance for Juniors to try their hand at golf with Bramley Golf Club's new professional, Nick English, followed by a snack lunch. Then it's the parents' turn to hit the fairways for a round of golf. If you're unable to play this time, don't worry, we will be organising another golf day on 25 September.
16 July - Cream Tea in the School Garden Join us in the School garden for a cream tea between 2pm and 5pm. Please contact the office to let them know that you would like to come along. 17 September - Barn Dance Come and join us for a barn dance in a proper barn!! - Tickets available from the school office 01483 892346.
There are many ways that you can support this project – by making a donation (don’t forget to gift aid this if possible!), or at no extra cost to you by shopping online through either Easyfundraising or Everyclick. We do hope that you will support us in raising the final funds, which will provide our children with the best facilities.
