Key Information

SEND Wave Provision and Surrey Local Provision

Provision Mapping

Wave Provision is part of the  Primary National Strategy focused on enabling children with difficulties in literacy and/or mathematics to reach at least national curriculum level at the end of KS1.

It is a graduated approach: All pupils at our school will be provided with high quality teaching that is differentiated to meet the diverse needs of all learners.

Wave 1 involves all children having high quality teaching daily including English and Maths lessons which takes into account the learning needs of all children in the classroom. This includes providing differentiated work and creating an inclusive learning environment.

Wave 2 includes Wave 1 plus time-limited interventions for children who are falling behind age-related expectations. Wave 2 interventions are often targeted at a group of pupils with similar needs.

Wave 3 includes Wave 1 plus targeted provision for a small percentage of pupils who require individualised intervention including support or specialised provision in order to address their needs or accelerate their progress.
